Video: Wherever I May Roam Solo
My version of 'Wherever I May Roam' guitar solo.
Wherever I May Roam - Metallica
Part of the ‘Black Album’ series of guitar solo covers, this one is a great solo.
The whole song has the eastern flavour to it, that phrygian feel to the notes. Bends that hang, of course a wah wah pedal to accentuate the notes, and from lsitening to interviews on this, the inital seciton wsa inspired by hendrix, of which Kirk was a great fan.
Time to try the new guitar!
After many years of using a Peavey USA Wolfgang as the main go to guitar, I came across for sale an 90’s Kirk Hammett model. I could not resist… after all of those years idolising Metallica, it was a no brainer!
The previous owner had popped some EMG 81/60 combination in (a first for me having active pickups) and replaced with a Gotoh bridge. This guitar plays like butter and and helps me search for that elusive ‘tone’! I’m using BIAS FX2 here again for the plugins and a physical Dunlop Crybaby Wah.
Thank you for taking the time to watch!
